Coming Home

This work explores how our desire for control can limit us, trapping us in fear and the ceaseless chatter of our minds. The focus in this work is on the process rather than the end result.
In this painting, control and its self-imposed limitations takes the form of realistically illustrated hands, clenched in a tense grip. While the paint was still wet, an improvised dance with closed eyes on top of the wet paint made the image transform into abstraction. In the process, the wet paint gradually fades away beneath the vulnerable and authentic expression of intuition. Through this transformation, the canvas reveals a profound truth: that surrendering to the uncontrollable is in fact a powerful act that is the key to our own liberation. This is where we find ourselves. This is where we are alive.
