I paint women to reach what lies beneath the surface.

I am Lotte Eleonoor, an Amsterdam based visual artist. Ever since I was young, I have been captivated by two things: painting and the human mind. My figurative paintings explore the inner world of the women I portray. How they carry themselves, what they hold back, and what lies beneath the surface. I’m drawn to the raw parts of us that aren’t immediately visible: the things we don’t say, and the stories we don’t tell. Our emotions, rage, joy, doubts, thoughts, energy, resistance, vulnerability.

Women are the protagonists in my paintings. The subject is the inner world I’m trying to reach. Hers, and through that, my own.

Alongside my practice, I work as a cognitive neuropsychologist. Studying the mind shapes the questions in my work: what connects us, how we feel, what drives our behaviour, and how does inner life becomes visible, or stays hidden. My work had been exhibited in Mexico, London and Amsterdam.
